Non-Scale Victories

Making progress with your fitness and health is much more than what you weigh on a scale!

Many women have a goal of weight loss and a number of kilograms they want to lose. However, I know what they really mean is that they want to lose body fat, to help them feel more confident in themselves!

While weight is one variable you can track, it is a very fluctuating number to measure due to hormonal fluctuations, time of day, food eaten and water retention.

Being obsessed with this number can be detrimental to your perspective of your progress. The scale just reflects your relationship with gravity.

Taking measurements, photos and noting the fit of your clothes are all other great ways to track your progress and stay accountable to see how you are changing.

Sometimes your weight may even go UP as you make progress in the gym. Muscle mass is more dense than body fat, but you may be so much happier with your shape, strength and energy!

If you are basing your progress and how you feel about your body off a number on a scale, it isn’t great for your self-image and can lead to ongoing obsession with restriction, rather than focusing on maintaining the amazing body you are building!

On the flip side, your goal with your health and fitness doesn’t have to be fat loss!

⭐️⭐️YOUR WORTH IS MORE THAN A BODY FAT NUMBER OR YOUR WEIGHT.⭐️⭐️

Being the leanest you can possibly be will not lead to more happiness. You can find so much joy, power and respect for your body aiming for goals other than fat loss.

Training, eating well, getting sleep and recovery are habits to incorporate into your life to support many goals!
