How to Add a Custom Food to Myfitnesspal

If you have a meal or food that is not already in Myfitnesspal, you can add it to your database, and make it easier to add to your day.

This option is great is you already have found the calories and macros of a food/recipe but don’t want to put in every ingredient into a Recipe (click here to find out how to add a recipe) or add all the different foods like a Meal (click here how to find out how to add a meal).

Step One:
Tap “Add Food” on one of your meal selections (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner etc)

Step Two:
Select “My Foods” from the menu at the top of the page, under the search bar.

Step Three:
Select “Create a Food”

Step Four:
Input the information including the Brand Name, Description of the Food, Serving size (include a unit) and Serves per container.

If you are inputting a quick serving, I would write 1 serving size and 1 per container.

Step Five:

Input the calories (if the recipe only has kj (kilojueles) divide this number by 4.2 and you will get the calories), carbohydrate, fat and protein as a minimum. If you have extra information (like saturated fat, sugar etc) you can add this as well, but is not necessary.

Step Six:
Save the food, and it will now be in your own database under “My Foods” that you can add at any time
