How to Use the App for your Nutrition

The Powherful app has some great features to help you with your healthy nutrition habits!

HOW TO ADD A MEAL

FIND MEALS

Click on the '+' button then select 'Meal'.

Take a photo of your meal or upload the photo from your gallery.

You can also select skip if you do not wish to take a photo.

SEARCH FOR FOODS

You can search for the food types that are in your meal by searching for the food in the search bar and selecting the plus to add them to your meal.

Your recent foods will save in the "Recent" tab and you can also select foods as your favourites by clicking the heart icon that is in the top right corner when you click on a food, if you want to find them quickly.

SCAN BARCODES

If the food and/or ingredients you have has a barcode, you can scan the barcode. This will upload the calories, macronutrients, micronutrients and number of serve details.

Any selected foods will be in the 'Recent' tab.

EDIT MEALS

Once you have added in your ingredients/ foods to your meal, you can adjust the serving size, add additional foods, add a description and update the meal photo.

If you make any of the above changes, ensure to 'Save' the meal.

Your meal will be automatically logged as breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack based on the time you have uploaded and saved the meal. You can change this by editing the meal.

HOW TO ADD A PAST MEAL

You can also add meals you've already logged by clicking the clock icon, and selecting the meal on the days you ate it.

HOW TO SCHEDULE MEALS AND TRACK ON MULTIPLE DAYS

Click on the '+' button.

Click on the 'Date' at the top.

Select the dates you would like to add the meal to.

Once done, select 'Meal'.

Enter your meal details in and click 'Next'.

Don't forget to click 'Save'.

ADD MEAL PHOTOS

You can share photos of your meals in the app by capturing a quick photo or uploading photos from your gallery to log your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

Click on the '+' then click on the 'Meal' button.

You will then be prompted to either take a photo or upload a photo from your gallery (please note, if uploading a photo you may the whole photo may not fit into the square).

Select 'Choose'.

FIND RECIPES

You can explore the recipe library, try out new recipes, and track these recipes easily.

To access, click on the '+' tab then click 'Meal'.

Click on 'Discover' in the bottom right corner.

WAYS YOU CAN TRACK

You can use the app in a few different ways to stay accountable with your food.

Method 1: Saving notes of your food

Simply write down your food in a physical diary or in the notes section on your phone.

Add the screenshot or photo of your day as a "Meal photo". You will be able to review your day like a food diary for accountability., While not as accurate, it is still a great way to stay accountable.

Method 2: Meal Photos

Add a photo of your meal before you eat it, and write notes about the meal.

Great for mindful eating and getting accountable for your food

Method 3: Meal Tracking

Start tracking your meals through the app's software.

This is the most accourate way to track and keep on track with your calories and macros.

Method 4: Sync Myfitnesspal

If you already track your food in Myfitnesspal, you can sync it directly into the Powherful app!

Head to the more section (the three dots on the right-hand side)

Myfitnesspal will sync over your data and it will show up in your calendar with the foods, calories and macros you have tracked.

The app exists to help you become aware of good quality nutrition, and make sure you are eating the correct quality and quantity of food for your health and goals.

HELPFUL NUTRITION HABITS

Choose good quality wholefoods most of the time (80% of your intake for the day or week)

Leave room for 20% “soul foods” that you truly enjoy.

Eat regular meals spaced through the day. Try to avoid skipping meals and then overeating when yoiu get hungry. Your digestion, energy and wellbeing will thank you!

Be prepared with your meals for your week, and make sure you have food in your cupboard, fridge or that you take with you that is easy to access. This will make it less easy to get convenience foods.
