You Don't Always have to be Dieting to see Incredible Changes in your Body!

Powherful Quotes (15).jpg

Many women are obsessed with always being smaller, (so was I when I first started my fitness journey) but eating extremely low calories, cutting out food groups and restricting yourself only ends in a destroyed relationship with your body, whacked hormones and usually rebound weight gain to boot. (Speaking from experience here ladies!)

Chronic low calorie dieting leads to:

⬇️A more efficient metabolism where body using less energy to exist which actually makes it easier to gain body fat
⬇️Increased stress (release of cortisol) which can negatively affect digestion, skin, body fat, mood, energy.
⬇️Slow repair and growth of hair, skin, nails
⬇️Feeling cold
⬇️Low moods, energy, mental focus and concentration
⬇️Hormonal imbalances
⬇️Nutritional deficiencies
⬇️Being forever hangry

But you can still transform your body and maintain your health by educating yourself on principles, rather than being indoctrinated by myths. The two main nutrition principles I educate women on are:

QUANTITY:

Understand how much to eat for a result. Know your maintenance calories which are your baseline for maintaining your body composition. To lose body fat you must be in a calorie deficit. To gain muscle, power, strength you will be better at maintenance or a surplus.

QUALITY:

For health and wellness you must have a balance of protein, carbohydrate, fat and micronutrients each day. (Around 45-55% carbohydrates, 30% fat, 25-30% protein with wholefood souces for micronutrients)

There is so much power in understanding your daily intake and so much flexibility to make it work with your lifestyle. We show you how to figure these out in Powherful.

The negative effects to health as stated above, are the reasons I NEVER make women go into huge calorie deficits. If your primary goal is to lose body fat, I will recommend you to go into a fat loss PHASE that is just that, a phase.

At the end of the day, we want to find maintenance where our bodies can stabilise and find balance for happiness and health.

Put down the diet books and start learning about your body.
