You cannot pour from an empty cup, and you cannot show up as the best version of yourself if you have not been practising self care.

Too often we let life take over and we get pulled in every direction.

We often put everything else as more important than ourselves like work, family, study, tasks and say that we will do something for ourselves “when there’s time”.

Here’s a newsflash, that moment will never come unless you set intention for it to happen.

Self care is not selfish, in fact this belief is what often stops women from taking time to fill their cup and look after themselves.

HOW TO FILL YOUR CUP

MAKE the time
Take time every week for you. This could be activities that you enjoy that fulfil you, self development, exercise and habits that build you up.

Find space every day
Have space every day for just you, whether that’s getting up early to do meditation, yoga or exercise, taking a walk in the middle of the day or having space in the evening relaxing with a tea. Find space to clear your head and breathe.

Look after your body
Your body is your home and must be working well for you to be happy and healthy! Look after it and find joy in caring for your body. Eating fresh, whole foods and a balanced diet, moving your body, stretching and recovering are so important for feeling fulfilled!

Set your boundaries, and learn to say no
Respect your time and your commitments. Don’t say yes to something just to please someone else. Make sure it is something that you want to do, will contribute to something or will help you. It is amazing to do things for others, but not every little task until you become a doormat.

Reflect and journal on how you feel
Keep a journal and write your reflections. This can be the biggest insight into what you want in life, what is bothering you, what beliefs you have that hold you back!

What do you do that fills your cup?
